This report provides the heritage context of a property so that buyers can make an informed decision prior to purchase. The property itself may be listed, be within a conservation area, or be in close proximity to a listed building

A statement of significance provides an understanding of the heritage asset and its setting, including a summary history of the site, the planning context, historic mapping and identifies what is valuable about a heritage asset because of its heritage interest.

This document is often required in the planning application process - almost certainly for listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas, but also for non-designated heritage assets and buildings in the vicinity of a heritage asset.

A conservation plan is beneficial for a private or commercial heritage site, from individual buildings to estates. The process enables an owner or manager to better understand the heritage and its potential.
